Kaya (Hello) Welcome

I’m Davinder Hart, a proud Bibbulmun/Yamatji man born in Perth from Western Australia, with deep cultural ties extending across into parts of New South Wales.

As an artist, my passion lies in the creative process, and my life is immersed in the paintings I create. These artworks carry the knowledge and stories passed down from my elders and uncles. Through my work, I express the interconnectedness of all things—our relationship with the sky, the land, the waters, flora, fauna, and each other. My art highlights our place in the world and the significance of building connections and unity.

My artistic practice is characterized by intricate dot work and symmetrical line patterns, incorporating Aboriginal symbols, where I combine vibrant colours and use subtle, earthy tones with acrylics on canvas. The palettes I use are inspired by the landscapes around me—the evolving colours of the sky, the flowing ripples of water, the light weaving through the eucalyptus trees, and the vivid reflections in nature.

With over 10 years of experience in the arts, I’ve had the privilege of sharing my work both across Australia and internationally, having travelled to Saudi Arabia, England, and France. I specialize in custom commissions for both private clients and businesses, enabling me to share the wisdom of our elders while strengthening connections through my art.

I'd like to acknowledge and pay respects to my uncles Waylon Boney, Jacob Ellis, Taine Davidson and grandfather (Nudgee) Paul Gordon for their knowledge

Also acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung mob as the traditional owners on the lands of which I paint on and further extend my respects to the surrounding mobs of the Victorian region.
